Meet Kimberly Wesley

St. Louis born and raised, I write heartfelt romance stories celebrating Black love, just for you. My debut romance, Hook an Angel starts in the secluded, dark streets of St. Louis and shows some of the city's socio-economic levels in the diverse city.

My follow up novel, a stand-alone on it's on, is Err'thang About Ya. The title gets its name from the country grammar in St. Louis, but is actually set in Springfield, MO. It's the city where I spent my formative years in undergrad college at Missouri State University. I wanted some small-town feel, but in a mid-sized city.

My Journey

The first time I decided I wanted to be a writer I was twelve years old and my essay was selected as a finalist for a MLK essay contest. I did not win, but my fire was lit. I started writing little stories I would share with my friends. Then I wrote whatever crazy scenarios popped in my head. I wrote over 100 stories by the time I went away to college at age 17.

I decided I wanted to study film and TV in high school. And I wanted to learn everything. I took my first acting class in 10th grade. I took my first theater/TV production class in 11th grade. My senior year, I was writing and performing children's skits. And I also helped write, cast, and acted in a district wide play.

In college I took my first screenwriting class. In fact I took a total of three in three different departments: Theater, Media Communications and English. I also studied theater more. I learned different types of media writing as well as performed some of my pieces.
